I have a gas range and the surround had this sticky, browned grease layer no spray ever fully cut. I'd scrub for 20 minutes and it'd still feel tacky.

Tore off one of these, added a splash of hot water, one pass and the grease lifted like it was never there. The cloth is thick enough that it didn't fall apart on the rough spots.
